Citizenship
What is Citizenship? Citizenship means belonging to a country. When you are a citizen of a country, it means you belong to that country, and it’s like being a part of a big family.
Ways one can become a citizen of a country
There are several ways one can become a citizen of a country, some of these include: * By birth: If you are born in a country, you automatically become a citizen of that country. * Parents’ citizenship: If your parents are citizens of a country, you may also become a citizen of that country, even if you were born in a different country. * Marriage: If you marry a citizen of a country, you may be able to become a citizen of that country after a certain period of time. * Naturalization: This is a process where a person who was not born in a country can apply to become a citizen of that country. They usually have to live in the country for a certain period of time, learn the language, and pass a test about the country’s history and laws.
