Applications are now open for the 2024 edition of the MTN mPulse Spelling Bee, an exciting opportunity for young Nigerians between the ages of 9 and 15. With ₦24 million worth of prizes up for grabs, this competition encourages students to showcase their spelling skills and compete for life-changing rewards.
Competition Structure The MTN mPulse Spelling Bee consists of three competitive rounds:
- Round 1: Participants will face 10 spelling questions online at mpulse.mtn.ng.
- Round 2: Shortlisted candidates from the first round will advance to tackle 20 spelling questions, also online.
- Grand Finale: The final round will be held live in Lagos, with the event streamed for online viewers at mpulse.mtn.ng.
Exciting Prizes MTN has prepared generous rewards for the top performers:
- 1st Place: The winner receives a ₦5 million scholarship, a laptop, smartphone, and an mPulse goody bag. The winner’s school will also benefit from an ICT lab equipped with 10 laptops and MTN Hynetflex, while their teacher will receive ₦500,000.
- 2nd Place: ₦2.5 million scholarship, a laptop, smartphone, and mPulse goody bag. The teacher receives ₦300,000.
- 3rd Place: ₦1.5 million scholarship, a laptop, smartphone, and mPulse goody bag. The teacher is awarded ₦200,000.
- 4th-10th Finalists: ₦500,000 cash prize each and mPulse goody bags.
- 11th-20th Finalists: ₦200,000 cash prize each and mPulse goody bags.
Eligibility & Participation The competition is open to Nigerian students aged 9-15 who are on the MTN mPulse tariff plan. To join, students must register, complete practice quizzes, and enter the competition through the “Play Annually” feature.
