Health and Hygiene
Hygiene is a very important part of staying healthy. It involves practices and habits that help keep us clean and prevent diseases.
Methods of Purifying Water
There are many ways to purify water to make it safe to drink. Some of these methods include:
- Boiling Water: Heating water until it bubbles for a few minutes kills most of the germs and makes it safe to drink.
- Using Chlorine Tablets: Adding a small tablet to water can clean it by killing bacteria and viruses (always under adult supervision).
- Filtering: Passing water through a filter can remove particles and some germs.
- Solar Disinfection: Using the sun’s power to purify water. This involves filling clear plastic bottles with water and placing them in the sun for a day.
- Settling and Decanting: Letting muddy water sit until the dirt settles at the bottom and then pouring the cleaner water on top into another container can also help make it safer.
