Hello, young learners! Welcome back to Primary 3 National Value Education. In our previous lesson, we learned about division of labor. Today, we’re going to learn about Man and His Environment.
Objectives
By the end of this lesson, you should be able to:
- Define the environment and describe how man interacts with it.
- Appreciate the role of each individual in protecting the environment.
- Discuss how they can work together with others to improve the environment.
Man And His Environment
What is the environment? The environment includes everything around us, like plants, animals, water, and air. This means that both the living and non-living things around us make up our environment. Learn more about the environment here.
Concept of man as both male and female humans:
When we say “man,” we mean all humans, both boys and girls, men and women. Everyone has a part to play in taking care of our environment.
How man relates with his environment:
We interact with our environment daily through activities like planting trees, recycling waste, and even walking to school. By doing these things, we are taking part in caring for our environment.
Lesson Evaluation:
Now that you’ve learned about Man and His Environment, let’s see if you can answer these questions: 1. Define what is meant by ‘environment’.
- Give two examples of how you can help maintain a clean and healthy environment at home or school. 3. Explain why it is important for everyone, regardless of being male or female, to care for the environment.
Conclusions or Summary
We learned that the environment is everything around us, and we all have a responsibility to care for it. Remember, even small actions can make a big difference.
