Hi, students! Welcome back to Primary 4 Basic Science and Technology. In our previous lesson, we learned about Weather Instruments. Today, we’re going to learn about Color.
Objectives
By the end of this lesson, you should be able to:
- Define color.
- State the result of the mixture of primary colors.
Color
Color is how we perceive different shades, like red, blue, and yellow.
What is Color?
Color is the way we see light reflected off objects. Different objects reflect different wavelengths of light, and our eyes interpret these wavelengths as different colors.
Primary Colors
These are the most basic colors that cannot be created by mixing other colors together.
- Red
- Blue
- Yellow
Secondary Colors
These are colors that are created by mixing two primary colors together.
- Green – Created by mixing yellow and blue.
- Orange – Created by mixing red and yellow.
- Purple – Created by mixing red and blue.
Rainbows
Rainbows are formed when sunlight passes through water droplets, creating beautiful bands of colors. This happens because the water droplets act like tiny prisms, separating the white light into its different colors.
Evaluation Questions
Now that you’ve learned about color, let’s see if you can answer these questions:
- What are the primary colors?
- How are secondary colors created?
- How is a rainbow formed?
- What happens when you mix red and blue?
- What happens when you mix yellow and blue?
Conclusion
We’ve learned about the basic concepts of color, including primary and secondary colors, and how rainbows are formed. Remember that color is a fascinating aspect of our world, and there’s always more to learn! Don’t forget to check the comments section if you have any questions, and use the navigation to move to the next lesson. See you in the next lesson!
