Hello, young learners! Welcome back to Primary 1 Christian Religion Studies. In our previous lesson, we learned about Things God Created. Today, we’re going to learn why God created things.
Objectives
By the end of this lesson, you should be able to: * Discuss one reason why God created things. * List three reasons why God created things.
Why God Created Things
God created everything for a specific purpose. He created the world, the animals, and even you and me!
What is Creation?
Creation refers to everything that exists, including the universe, the Earth, all living things, and even the invisible things like air and light. God created all of this out of nothing!
Reasons Why God Created Things
There are many reasons why God created things, but here are three main ones:
- For His glory and honor: God’s creation reflects His amazing power, wisdom, and love. When we see the beauty of nature, the intricate design of living things, and the vastness of the universe, we are reminded of God’s greatness.
- That we might serve and worship Him: God created us so that we could have a relationship with Him. He wants us to love and obey Him, and to show our gratitude for all that He has given us.
- To reproduce (Genesis 1:28): God commanded humans to “be fruitful and multiply” and fill the Earth. This means that He wants us to have families and to continue His work of creation by bringing new life into the world.
Evaluation Questions
Now that you’ve learned about why God created things, let’s see if you can answer these questions:
- Why did God create things?
- List three reasons why God created things.
- What does the Bible say about God’s command to reproduce?
- How can we show our gratitude to God for His creation?
- What are some examples of how God’s creation reflects His glory and honor?
