Hello, young learners! Welcome back to Primary 1 National Values Education. In our previous lesson, we learned about Concept of Security. Today, we’re going to learn about Sources of Security.
Objectives By the end of this lesson, you should be able to: * List two examples of sources of insecurity. * Explain the importance of personal safety. * Identify ways to stay safe and avoid sources of insecurity.
Sources of Security What is security? Security means feeling safe and protected. It’s when we feel calm and confident because we know we are safe from harm.
There are many sources of security, such as: * Trusted adults: These are people we know and trust, like our parents, teachers, or other family members. They can help us feel safe and protected. * Safe environments: These are places where we feel safe and comfortable, like our homes, schools, or playgrounds. * Security measures: These are things that help keep us safe, like locks on doors, security cameras, or police officers.
Sources of Insecurity Insecurity means not feeling safe or protected. It is when we feel worried or scared because we think something bad might happen to us or the things we care about.
Some of the sources of insecurity include: * Strangers: These are people we don’t know. It’s important to be cautious around strangers and not talk to them without permission from a trusted adult. * Unsafe environments: These are places where we might not feel safe, like dark alleys, abandoned buildings, or areas with a lot of crime. * Dangerous objects: These are things that can hurt us, like sharp objects, weapons, or poisonous substances.
Staying Safe It’s important to be aware of our surroundings and take steps to stay safe. Here are some tips for staying safe: * Stay with trusted adults: Always stay with a trusted adult when you’re in public. * Don’t talk to strangers: Never talk to strangers without permission from a trusted adult. * Avoid dangerous areas: Stay away from areas that look unsafe or where there are a lot of strangers. * Be aware of your surroundings: Pay attention to what’s happening around you and be aware of potential dangers. * Tell someone if you feel unsafe: If you feel unsafe, tell a trusted adult immediately.
