Hello, young learners! Welcome back to Basic 2 Physical And Health Education. In our previous lesson, we learned about Moving Our Body Parts. Today, we’re going to learn about Moving Our Body Parts.
Objectives
By the end of this lesson, you should be able to:
- Explain the basic skills in bending and stretching.
- Identify the body parts involved in bending and stretching.
- Demonstrate bending and stretching movements.
Moving Our Body Parts
Our bodies are amazing machines that can move in many different ways. Some of these movements include bending and stretching.
What is Bending?
Bending is when we move a part of our body by curving or folding it. For example, when we bend our arm to pick up a toy, or when we bend our knees to sit down.
What is Stretching?
Stretching is when we make our body parts longer or straighter. It’s like giving our muscles a nice, gentle pull to help them become more flexible. For example, when we stretch our arms above our heads, or when we stretch our legs out in front of us.
Evaluation Questions
Now that you’ve learned about bending and stretching, let’s see if you can answer these questions:
- What is bending?
- What is stretching?
- Can you give an example of when you might need to bend your body?
- How do bending and stretching help us in our daily activities?
- Can you name some body parts that we can bend?
- Can you name some body parts that we can stretch?
