How to Nurture and Sustain Democracy
What is Democracy?
Democracy is a system of government where the people have the power to choose their leaders. It’s like a big family where everyone gets to have a say in how things are run.
Agency in charge of sensitization
There is a special agency that helps people understand democracy and how to participate in it. This agency is called the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). INEC is like a teacher who explains the rules of democracy and how to vote for our leaders.
Duties of the National Orientation Agency
The National Orientation Agency has a very important job. It helps people understand their rights and responsibilities in a democratic society. It’s like a guide that helps us know what we can do and what we should do to make our democracy strong.
Some of the duties of the National Orientation Agency include:
- Educating the public about their rights and responsibilities.
- Promoting national unity and patriotism.
- Encouraging citizens to participate in the democratic process.
