Hi, young learners! Welcome back to Primary 1 Basic Science and Technology (Computer Studies). In our previous lesson, we learned the definition and description of a computer. Today, we’re going to learn about the Difference between a Computer and a Television.

By the end of this lesson, you should be able to:
- List differences between a computer & a television
Difference Between a Computer and a Television
Computers and televisions are both useful. Though they may look similar, they do different things. Some differences between them includes:
- Input and Interactivity: A computer uses a keyboard and mouse for input, allowing you to perform many tasks. A television uses a remote control, which mainly lets you change channels or adjust the volume.
- Purpose: A computer can be used for many tasks, such as writing, playing games, and browsing the internet. A television is mainly used for watching programs.
- Output: A computer can display text, images, and videos on its monitor. A television can only display videos.
- Functionality: A computer can create and edit documents, while a television cannot.
- Storage: A computer can save files, pictures, and music. A television usually does not save anything unless connected to a digital recorder.
- Internet Access: A computer connects to the internet to browse websites and watch videos. Some smart TVs can connect to the internet, but they have limited browsing abilities.
- Software: A computer can run different programs for various tasks. A television usually has apps for streaming shows.
- Screen Size: Computers often have smaller screens, while televisions usually have larger screens for watching from a distance.
