Hi, young learners! Welcome back to Primary 1 Pre-vocational Studies. In our previous lesson, we learned about Air and it’s Uses; Description of Air. Today, we’re going to learn about Air and its uses.
Objectives
By the end of this lesson, you should be able to: * Demonstrate the respiration process by breathing in and out. * Identify some ways we use air in our daily lives.
Air and its Uses
Air is all around us, even though we can’t see it. It’s like a blanket covering the Earth. We need air to breathe and to do many other things.
What is Air?
Air is a mixture of different gases, including oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide. Oxygen is the most important gas for us because we need it to breathe.
Uses of Air
There are many ways we use air. Some of them include:
- Breathing: We breathe in air to get oxygen, which our body needs to survive. When we breathe out, we release carbon dioxide.
- Playing: We use air to blow up balloons, fly kites, and play with wind instruments.
- Flying: Airplanes use air to fly. The wings of an airplane are designed to create lift, which allows the plane to stay in the air.
- Wind Power: Wind turbines use the power of the wind to generate electricity.
Evaluation Questions
Now that you’ve learned about air and its uses, let’s see if you can answer these questions:
- Why is air important for us?
- What do we use air for in play?
- What happens when we breathe in?
- Can you name two other ways we use air?
Conclusion
We learned that air is essential for life and has many uses. Remember, we need to take care of the air by avoiding pollution. Don’t forget to check the comments section if you have any questions, and use the navigation to move to the next lesson. See you in the next lesson!
