In our locality, we have a variety of foods that help keep us healthy and strong. We refer to these collections of food items as Foodstuffs, and each of them has a specific role in our bodies.
Foodstuff
Foodstuff is any substance that can be eaten or drunk to provide nutrition to the body. Foodstuffs are typically derived from plants, animals, or fungi and contain essential nutrients like carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, and minerals.
Types of Foodstuff with Examples
Some of the common types of foodstuffs found in our locality include:
- Roots: Cassava, yam, sweet potato, carrot, beetroot
