What are Chemicals?
Chemicals are substances that can be found all around us. They are in the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the things we use every day. Some chemicals are safe, but some can be dangerous.

There are many different types of dangerous chemicals, and they can be found in many places. Some of the most common dangerous chemicals include:
- Bleach: Bleach is a strong chemical used for cleaning, but it can be harmful if touched or swallowed.
- Pesticides: Pesticides are chemicals used to keep bugs away from plants and food, but they can be dangerous if we touch or eat them.
- Kerosene: Kerosene is a fuel used in lamps, but it’s very dangerous if we touch it or get it on our skin.
- Medicines: Some medicines can be harmful if we take too much or if we take them without a grown-up’s help.
- Battery Acid: Battery acid is a chemical inside batteries, and it can be very harmful if it comes out of the battery and touches our skin.
- Cleaning Products: Many cleaning products contain chemicals that can be harmful if not used properly.
- Paints and Solvents: Paints and solvents can be dangerous if inhaled or if they come into contact with our skin.
- Fertilizers: Fertilizers are chemicals used to help plants grow, but they can be harmful if we touch them or eat them.
