Hello, young learners! Welcome back to Primary 2 National Values Education. In our previous lesson, we learned about Safety At School. Today, we’re going to learn about Safety Outdoor.
Objectives
By the end of this lesson, you should be able to:
- Explain the meaning of outdoor.
- Discuss safety precautions when outdoor and how to relate with strangers.
Safety Outdoor
Outdoor means being outside, not inside a building or house. It’s where you can see the sky, feel the sun, and play in the fresh air.
Outdoor safety precautions
There are several things you need to remember to stay safe when you are outside. Some of these include:
- Look Both Ways Before Crossing: When you want to cross a road, always stop and look both ways. First, look to your left, then to your right, and then to your left again. Make sure no cars or bikes are coming, and it’s safe to cross. You can learn more about road safety by searching for “road safety tips for kids” on the internet.
- Stay with Grown-Ups: When you are outside, like in a park or on a street, always stay close to your grown-up or teacher. They will keep you safe and help you if you need it.
- Don’t Talk to Strangers: If someone you don’t know comes up to you and tries to talk to you, don’t talk to them. Instead, go find your grown-up and tell them about the person. We only talk to people we know and trust when we are outside. You can learn more about stranger danger by searching for “stranger danger tips for kids” on the internet.
Evaluation Questions
Now that you’ve learned about Safety Outdoor, let’s see if you can answer these questions: 1. What does “outdoor” mean? 2. Can you name one safety symbol we discussed for the road? 3. How should you behave when you meet someone you don’t know?
- Why is it important to stay with a grown-up when you are outside? 5. What should you do if someone you don’t know tries to talk to you?
Conclusion
Remember, safety is important when you are outside. Always be aware of your surroundings and follow the safety rules we discussed. Don’t forget to check the comments section if you have any questions, and use the navigation to move to the next lesson. See you in the next lesson!
