Hello, young learners! Welcome back to Primary 1 National Value Education. In our previous lesson, we learned about Respect for Basic 1. Today, we’re going to learn about People To Respect.
Objectives
By the end of this lesson, you should be able to:
- Identify and name people in their community who deserve respect.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude towards respecting elders and authority figures.
- Understand the role of respect in maintaining harmony within the community and school.
People To Respect
Respect is a very important value. It means showing kindness, consideration, and appreciation for others. There are many people in our lives who deserve our respect, and they are all around us.
What is Respect?
Respect is treating others with kindness and consideration, even if they are different from us. It means listening to them, valuing their opinions, and being polite.
People To Respect
Some of the people we should respect include:
- Parents and Family Members: They love and care for us, and we should show them respect by listening to them, helping them, and being kind.
- Teachers and School Staff: They help us learn and grow, and we should show them respect by listening to them, following their rules, and being polite.
- Community Helpers: These are people who help us in our community, such as doctors, firefighters, and police officers. We should show them respect for their hard work and dedication.
- Elders and Neighbors: Elders have a lot of experience and wisdom, and we should show them respect by listening to them, helping them, and being polite. Our neighbors are the people who live near us, and we should show them respect by being kind and considerate.
- Friends and Classmates: Our friends and classmates are the people we spend time with, and we should show them respect by being kind, honest, and trustworthy.
Evaluation Questions
Now that you’ve learned about People To Respect, let’s see if you can answer these questions:
- Who are two people you should show respect to in school?
- Name a community helper you respect and explain why.
- How can you show respect to your friends?
- Why is it important to respect elders?
- How does showing respect to others make our community a better place?
