Hello, young learners! Welcome back to Primary 1 Basic Science and Technology. In our previous lesson, we learned about No previous lesson found.. Today, we’re going to learn about Moving our body.
Objectives
By the end of this lesson, you should be able to:
- Demonstrate correct walking and leaping.
- Identify safety rules in walking and leaping.
- Identify non-locomotive movements.
Moving Our Body Parts – Leaping and Walking
This lesson will explore how we move our bodies, focusing on two important movements: leaping and walking.
Leaping:
- Leaping is a large jump that helps us move quickly from one place to another.
- When leaping, we need to bend our knees, push off the ground with our feet, and land on both feet.
Walking:
- Walking is a regular movement we do every day to move from one place to another.
- When walking, we need to keep our backs straight, swing our arms gently, and take small steps.
Safety Rules in Leaping and Walking:
- When leaping or walking, we must always be aware of our surroundings and look where we’re going.
- We should avoid running into others and be cautious on uneven surfaces.
Non-locomotor Movements:
- Non-locomotive movements are movements we make without changing our location.
- Some of these movements include: bending, stretching, twisting, and balancing.
Evaluation Questions
Now that you’ve learned about moving our bodies, let’s see if you can answer these questions:
- What are the two movements discussed in the lesson?
- State two safety rules when walking and leaping.
- Name three non-locomotive movements.
- What are some other ways we can move our bodies?
- Why is it important to follow safety rules when moving our bodies?
Conclusion
Today, we learned about different ways to move our bodies, including leaping, walking, and non-locomotive movements. Remember to always be safe when moving your body and to practice these movements regularly. Keep exploring and learning about how your body works! See you in the next lesson!
