Eating Good Food
Eating good food is important for our health and growth. It gives us the energy to play, learn, and do all the things we love.
Unbalanced Diet
What is an Unbalanced Diet?
An unbalanced diet is when you don’t eat different kinds of foods your body needs. It’s like having too much of one thing and not enough of others, which isn’t good for your body.
Effects of eating unbalanced diet
Some of the effects of eating an unbalanced diet include:
- Poor Growth: Eating an unbalanced diet can make you not grow as tall and strong as you should. It can make you feel weak and tired.
- Sickness: Not eating a variety of foods can make you get sick more often. Your body needs different nutrients to fight off germs and stay healthy.
- Kwashiorkor: Not getting enough protein in your diet can cause a sickness called “kwashiorkor.” It makes your belly big and your body weak.
- Weak Bones: If you don’t eat enough foods with calcium (like milk and green leafy vegetables), your bones can become weak, and it might be painful to move.
Overeating
Overeating means eating too much food, more than your body needs.
Effects of Overeating
There are several effects of overeating, such as:
- Getting too chubby/Obesity: It can make you gain too much weight.
- Tummy troubles: It might give you a sore tummy or make you feel too full.
- Sickness risk: Eating too much can make you sick or give you problems like diabetes or high blood pressure when you grow up.
- Bad eating habits: It can teach your body to always want lots of food, which isn’t healthy.
