Hello, young learners! Welcome back to Primary 3 National Value Education. In our previous lesson, we learned about avoiding criminal behaviour. [[7]] Today, we’re going to learn about antisocial behaviours.
Objectives
By the end of this lesson, you should be able to:
Define antisocial behaviours and identify examples. Reflect on how antisocial behaviours affect others and develop a sense of empathy. Demonstrate ways to avoid engaging in antisocial behaviours through role-play. Collaborate with peers to discuss and propose solutions to prevent antisocial behaviours in their community.
Antisocial Behaviours
Antisocial behaviours are actions that harm or lack consideration for the well-being of others. [[7]] Some of these actions include:
Bullying: Hurting someone physically or emotionally. Stealing: Taking something that isn’t yours without permission. Lying: Not telling the truth to others. Vandalism: Damaging public or private property.
- Excluding others: Intentionally leaving someone out of group activities.
These actions can make others feel sad, scared, or alone and can lead to a lack of trust within our community.
Consequences
Antisocial behaviours have consequences. They can hurt others, damage property, and even lead to legal trouble. For example, if you bully someone, they might feel scared and alone. If you steal something, you might get in trouble with the police. It’s important to remember that our actions have consequences, and we need to be responsible for them.
Role-Play
We can learn how to avoid antisocial behaviours by practicing. Let’s role-play some scenarios where we can see how to handle situations in a positive way. For example, if someone is being bullied, we can try to help them by talking to a teacher or another trusted adult.
Group Discussion
Now, let’s discuss how we can prevent antisocial behaviours in our community. What are some things we can do to make our school and neighbourhood a safer and more welcoming place for everyone?
Evaluation Questions
Now that you’ve learned about antisocial behaviours, let’s see if you can answer these questions:
- What are antisocial behaviours?
- Give two examples of antisocial behaviours.
- Describe one consequence of engaging in antisocial behaviour.
- How can we prevent antisocial behaviours in our community?
- What can we do if we see someone engaging in antisocial behaviour?
Conclusion
Remember, it’s important to be kind and respectful to others. We should avoid engaging in antisocial behaviours and try to create a positive and supportive environment for everyone. Keep learning and exploring ways to make our community a better place! See you in the next lesson!
